What is Botox?
Botox Cosmetic is an FDA-approved prescription medicine that smooths out lines and wrinkles when injected into different facial muscles. Once injected, Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals traveling to muscles which stops the muscles from contracting. This in turn relaxes and softens wrinkles. Botox makes it possible to get rid of frown lines or crow’s feet during your trip to our office!

What will the Botox procedure be like?
In less than 30 minutes, Dr. Nguyen will numb the injection sites with an anesthetic and inject the Botox with a fine needle. This painless procedure is completely safe, has very few side effects, and will be over before you know it!

How long does Botox last?
Following Botox treatment, results may not be noticeable right away. However, within a week you will start to see your skin smoothing out. After two weeks, the results will be set. Botox results are not permanent but typically last four to six months. Botox treatment requires periodic visits in order to maintain the smooth appearance.

How do I know if Botox is right for me?
Because Botox is a prescribed cosmetic therapy it is not always the right treatment for everyone. However, we are more than happy to meet with you to determine if Botox will fulfill your cosmetic needs. Is it safe to get Botox from my dentist?
Absolutely! It may seem odd for a dentist to offer Botox, but dentists already have extensive knowledge in facial muscles and tissues due to their dental school training. With additional training and education, dentists are able to provide Botox with as good of results as any facial expert. Dr. Nguyen is not only trained in Botox treatment, but can add additional insight to how your oral health and facial aesthetics connect for a more comprehensive treatment plan.
